HTTPS is essential for protecting user privacy and security in online advertising. All network requests made by creatives and tracking pixels must be executed over HTTPS to ensure secure data transmission.
HTTPS issues test in Advalidation
When this test/setting is enabled, Advalidation will flag whenever an ad is pulling ressources from an HTTP website.
Here are some common HTTPS issues that can be identified thanks to this test:
- Non-encrypted HTTP requests – HTTP is not encrypted, making data vulnerable to interception. This could expose sensitive information.
- Mixed content warnings – An ad that pulls data from an HTTP source will trigger warnings, compromising the ad's integrity.
- Rendering failures – An HTTPS ad that references an HTTP resource may not render properly in browsers, resulting in lost visibility and engagement.
Advalidation's recommendation
We recommend using this setting to ensure all calls and connections are secured using the HTTPS protocole.
