The duration is the length of your video expressed in seconds.
How to use the Duration setting in Advalidation
In Advalidation, you can set duration intervals based on your requirements.
Entering the same value in the Min and Max field will only allow for said value.
The example in the above image shows how to add the accepted duration of 15 seconds.
Round duration to nearest whole number
This setting will round the duration up or down to the nearest whole number during the QA process.
If you need exact durations with no tolerance, you should not enable this option.
Please note:
When working with NTSC files, the duration in seconds might differ slightly compared with the TimeCode duration. For example, a video file with this TimeCode duration 00:00:15:00 will actually be 15,2 seconds long. This is due to the NSTC frames rates not being second accurate (23,976fps, 29,976 fps, etc...). If you work with NTSC files and you do not want these discrepancies to be flagged by Advalidation, you may include a margin or error within your duration intervals, or simply enable the Round duration to nearest whole number setting.
